Hintertux is Austria's only true 365-day ski resort, with glacier skiing reaching 3,250 metres at the head of the Zillertal valley. While the glacier itself offers 60 km of pistes, the Zillertal Superskipass opens up a staggering 530 km across the entire valley — including Mayrhofen, Zell am Ziller, and Königsleiten. The Hintertux glacier is a favourite training ground for World Cup racers and national teams. A unique attraction is the Nature Ice Palace, a natural ice cave inside the glacier accessible by guided tour.
