2026–2027 Season Overview

Planning your ski holiday? Here's when every major European resort opens and closes for the 2026–2027 season. We update these dates as resorts confirm them.

Year-Round Resorts

These resorts offer skiing 365 days a year thanks to high-altitude glaciers:

  • Zermatt, Switzerland — year-round on Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (3,883 m)
  • Hintertux Glacier, Austria — Austria's only 365-day resort (3,250 m)
  • Saas-Fee, Switzerland — Allalin glacier (3,600 m)

Early Openers (September – November)

  • Sölden — late September (glacier), hosts World Cup opener in October
  • Kitzbühel — mid-October (snow permitting)
  • St. Moritz — late November (Corviglia and Diavolezza)
  • Val d'Isère — late November

Main Season (December – April)

Most Alpine resorts open in early-to-mid December and close in mid-to-late April:

Late Closers (May+)

  • Val d'Isère — open until early May
  • Sölden — glacier open until late May
  • Verbier — Mont Fort glacier occasionally open into May
